Due to recent weather conditions, the FULL
MOON FREERIDE 2010 has been rescheduled for Tuesday 02 March
2010
The FULL MOON FREERIDE, the only one of its
kind in France, is being organised by
Evolution 2, in
partnership with Oakley and CoreUpt.
Under a perfect full moon, the 20
best French freeriders will confront each other in the
Tufs Couloirs. Led by the 4 times world freeride world
champion, Guerlain Chicherit, (back on home turf),
the riders will launch themselves into the steep, narrow
and untracked couloirs known as ‘the fingers’.
Judged by (amongst others) Laurent Niol, Olympic
skier, the pressure is on the riders to face the
notorious challenges of these couloirs to become the
best Full Moon Free Rider of 2009.
With an altitude difference of nearly 500 meters, the
Tufs Couloirs are situated in between the
“Trolles” and “piste H” slopes and plunge down to the frozen
lake of Tignes.
Perfectly situated in the middle of the lake, the freeride village has the best
view of the riders for all our partners. As the Tufs
Couloirs take centre stage all eyes will surely be on
this spectacle in its moonlight glory.
After the prize giving ceremony,
held in front of the tourist office in Tignes le Lac,
the night will continue with a dinner for the riders and
guests followed by a full moon party in the Melting Pot
club open to everybody.
